The Kids 'n' You:is a community-based programme for women and preschool children aimed at the early intervention and prevention of intergenerational child abuse, especially that arising in the context of domestic violence. Knowing Mothers:operates from a feminist approach incorporating narrative therapy techniques to create awareness of the impact of domestic violence on women and their relationships with their children, promoting the consideration of different ways of thinking about themselves as women and as mothers. The Manual is divided into sections containing: background information about the project, an overview of literature informing their work, session outlines for the domestic violence and effects on women and children group, as well as peer supporter training modules. A final section of the manual contains a project report evaluating the Knowing Mothers – Safe Young Children:project including discussion and analysis of the approach underpinning the programme.en
