For more information see 'Through young black eyes : a handbook to protect indigenous children from the impact of family violence and child abuse' on our Research & Resources database.<br/ >This pamphlet, produced by the Secretary for National Aboriginal and Islander Child Care (SNAICC), was developed as a tool for Aboriginal community leaders to assist them in mobilising efforts to respond to the needs on children in their community, in particular, children at risk of family violence and/or neglect. A background to SNAICC and its role in responding to family violence, child abuse and neglect is presented and suggestions on how to raise awareness in your community, develop interagency responses to abuse and initiate long-term prevention strategies are provided. Information on the SNAICC handbook and a list of agencies across Australia, which may be useful as educational or funding resources, is also included.en
