It will investigate prevalence, nature and impacts in Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom, and examine different responses to these behaviours. Image-based Sexual Abuse is a serious criminal justice problem, yet to date few Australian jurisdictions have introduced legislation to address the issue. Applicable laws here and elsewhere are inconsistent and inadequate. Little is known about how widespread these behaviours are or the extent of resulting social, economic and psychological harms. The study aims to generate new knowledge, a theoretical framework and a much-needed evidence base to develop law reform and strategic interventions.

Project contact
Assoc.
