This paper discusses training for frontline workers who work with children living with family and domestic violence. Issues with regard to communicating with children and families from diversity groups, including disabled, multicultural, Indigenous and remote communities, are discussed. The project is funded by the Partnerships Against Domestic Violence Phase 2. The 3 objectives of the project are: 1. to develop strategies for effective responses in community level services or community education; 2. to develop training programmes and resources for relevant professional groups; and 3. to integrate the newly-developed training resources into existing training delivery programmes. Training materials and resources have been developed with a resource kit, Point of Contact: responding to children living with family and domestic violence:, as an outcome of the project. Resources are targeted for police, general practitioners, child welfare workers, childcare and out-of-school-care workers, family court counsellors and magistrates, kindergarten, preschool and primary school teachers, maternal and child health nurses and contact centre workers.en
