The debate surrounding introduction of joint parenting provisions in the Family Law Act:is considered and some of the principles and research findings underlying these changes are examined. The appendix contains draft guidelines for solicitors and barristers representing children in legal matters and relevant Articles of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child.
