Presented at the 9th Australasian Conference on Child Abuse and Neglect, Many Voices Many Choices, this series of overheads provides an outline of current research into the links between domestic violence and child abuse, the problems involved with approaches that view children merely as witnesses, the strategies children adopt in response to violence and the need to develop mechanisms through which children’s voices might be heard. Some of the barriers to disclosing abuse are also identified and various ways of addressing these issues are suggested.en
