Notes: | Discusses the findings of a study, conducted by the author, into the impact of domestic violence on children and the link between child abuse and woman abuse, highlighting the range of psychological and behaviour consequences that can arise from exposure to violence in the family. The study examined children’s perceptions of service provision and attempted to identify some of the factors that exacerbate children’s experiences, such as prolonged exposure to violence and multiple moves/disruption. Exposure to domestic violence or woman abuse as a form of child psychological abuse is then discussed and it is suggested there is a clear link between the two. |
