| dc.description.notes | This paper reports the WA Drink Spiking Education Project, which targets the individual and the culture that facilitates the commission of the crime. Drink spiking and drug rape are complex problems: they are not always perceived as crimes, are easy to commit and are difficult to prosecute. The WA project focuses on convenience advertising directed to women and men, liquor industry partnerships, police training and peer education. The outcomes reveal that female patrons took 16,000 informative cards during the four-month campaign and reports to police increased by 75 per cent. A literature review of the available research and some interventions are discussed. | en |
