Provides a brief overview of the guiding principles and assumptions underlying current policing of domestic and family violence in culturally diverse communities of Queensland and outlines three problem-oriented and partnership-policing strategies being implemented in regional areas. The ‘Walk Away Cool Down Campaign’ is a media-run educational programme aimed at prevention of domestic violence. The Police Liaison Officer Follow Up Program is an intervention programme aimed at assisting both the complainant and respondent in Domestic Violence Protection Order Cases and the Logan Fax Back Project is an attempt to coordinate services offered by various legal and welfare agencies in the local and regional area. Other initiatives currently being implemented and/or developed are discussed and a listing of contact names for the aforementioned programmes is provided.en
