Notes:  Presented at the Character, Impact and Prevention of Crime in Regional Australia Conference, this paper describes the rationale, aims, objectives, activities, initial outcomes and future of a model for therapeutic intervention with families experiencing domestic violence. The Kids and DV Project is an attempt to bring together efforts in the field of domestic violence, child protection and crime prevention and focuses primarily on implementing early intervention with children in families where intergenerational transmission of violence as a learned behaviour presents a risk. Argues that although the programme is still in its early stages, it presents a unique opportunity for the establishment of holistic, multi-agency and integrated responses to family violence, providing early and meaningful intervention.
