dc.description.notes | This paper outlines pilot routine screening project in two area health services in New South Wales. Of a total of 999 women, 11% responded positively to questions of being hurt by their partner in the last 12 months, 32 women agreed to some form of assistance, 97% indicated that they felt OK about being asked questions about abuse, and 92% indicated that the information that they received about domestic violence included useful information about resources and support. The screening increased the identification of domestic violence, gave a clear message that domestic violence is wrong, and trained staff to ask screening questions. | en |
