Notes:  This paper reviews the historical context of sexual violence against Aboriginal women and identifies concerns that are relevant to Aboriginal women. it looks at police and court responses to Aboriginal women, and the lack of adequate counseling services. Responses developed by Aboriginal communities are also presented, such as the NSW Aboriginal Women's Conference in Dubbo in 1990; Women Out West (WOW) Project; Mudgin-Gal Aboriginal Corporation; and the proposed Willa-Goonji - Aboriginal Women's Crisis Centre.
