dc.description.notes | This paper looks at the introduction of routine use of domestic and family violence screening tool in all Northern Territory public hospitals as part of their whole-of-government Domestic and Aboriginal Family Violence Strategy 2003-2007. It was introduced as a response to the high rate of hospital admission for assault in the NT, with domestic and family violence being the single greatest cause of hospital admissions for injury among Aboriginal women in the NT. One in four patients screened during the pilot disclosed domestic and family violence and 36.3% of those patients screened had asked for immediate help. The key steps and strategies used to implement the evaluation recommendations are presented and issues with engaging key stakeholders from the hospital, government and community sectors are outlined. The implementation process, performance targets, risk management, project management, ongoing evaluation, and implementation plan (for immediate implementation and ongoing) are discussed | en |
