Notes:	"November 2013" This briefing note from the series produced by Project Mirabel presents an historical overview of the development of domestic violence perpetrator programs (DVPPs) in the United Kingdom. It draws on interviews with 16 participants involved with DVPPs, who are sector leaders or key stakeholders from probation, local authority and women's organisations. The authors conclude that, amongst DVPPs in the UK, there is a "rich diversity of practice underpinned by a gender-based analysis of domestic violence". They discuss the creation of a National Practitioners Network and a national association for DVPPs (Respect), as well as the decision by the Probation Service in England and Wales to run their own domestic violence programs. The authors also highlight differences between the Scottish system of DVPPs, which is marked by collaboration between the voluntary, community and statutory sectors, and the English and Welsh systems, which are increasingly less collaborative.
