dc.description.notesThis report summarises the panel presentations and forum evaluation feedback of the Indigenous Family Violence Prevention Forum held on the 8th and 9th of May, 2013 at the Mackay Entertainment and Convention Centre in Queensland.<br/ ><br/ >The opening address on Day 1 was delivered by Dr Jackie Huggins. She then introduced the first panel of the forum, Cr. Ken Bone and Cr. Alf Lacey, who discussed the Alcohol Management Plans (AMP) in their respective communities of Cherbourg and Palm Island.<br/ ><br/ >Following this discussion, Shirley Slann introduced Liz Young, Moira Bligh and Shane Duffy who made up the panel entitled “AMP Insights”. The Hard Yarns session, facilitated by Shirley Slann, followed.<br/ ><br/ >On Day 2 the keynote speaker was Judy Atkinson for the Culture and Healing session. The Culture and Healing – Children panel was made up of Lylah Little, Sonia Townson and Theresa Mace. This discussion was followed by Culture and Healing – Women. Speakers on this panel were Debra Bennet, Heather Nancarrow and Isobel Stephens. The final panel of the forum was Culture and Healing – Men. Speakers were Glynn Johnston, Lyndon Reilly and Wayne Laza.en
