Notes:  This report summarises the program presentations and forum evaluation feedback of the Indigenous Family Violence Prevention Forum held on the 9th and 10th of May, 2012 at the Mackay Entertainment and Convention Centre in Queensland.

On Day 2 Shirley Slann's opening address traced her history in the domestic violence sector, especially her work at the North Queensland Domestic Violence Resource Service in Mount Isa.

The forum introduced the 'hard yarns' session for the first time which was facilitated by Charles Passi, CDFVR Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Reference Group member. The hard yarns session was a whole-of-forum discussion which encouraged people to talk about issues that are often difficult. It enabled the sharing of concerns which lead to possible solutions and healing.
