General Overview:The Bega Valley Staying Home Leaving Violence Pilot was funded by the New South Wales Department of Community Services and was one of three similar pilots planned for the state. Auspiced by Bega Women’s Refuge, the aim of the pilot study was to test the conditions necessary for women and children who have experienced family violence to stay safely in their own homes. This may require the removal and exclusion of the violent partner. The goal is the long term stability of women and children in the security of their own homes and communities.
