dc.description.notes | General Overview: With funding from WESNET, Women’s House Shelta in Brisbane ran a forum in 2009 for domestic violence workers, using a feminist framework to examine issues and problems surrounding child protection and domestic violence. This report presents on the forum discussion and outcomes.<br/ ><br/ >Discussion: Support workers and frontline staff from a variety of service providers attended the forum, along with students, women’s refuge representatives, immigrant women’s support services and referral services. Seven questions were used as a framework for the discussion and to help identify issues and problems:<br/ ><br/ >The responses to and discussion surrounding each of these questions are summarised in the paper. The final section summarises the discussion surrounding possible solutions to issues and problems raised. Various examples of other service models are introduced and discussed. | en |
