A White Ribbon Foundation Report<br/ >Overview: This four part report, compiled by the Australian White Ribbon Foundation, examines the impact of violence against women on children and young people in their homes and relationships. It intersperses an examination of relevant literature and research with direct quotes from children and adolescents who have experienced or observed domestic violence.<br/ ><br/ >The report begins with an examination of the nature, level, and short- and long-term impacts of adult-perpetrated violence experienced by children and teenagers, before moving on to discuss the nature and extent of violence experienced by young people in their own intimate relationships. In part three, the causes of, and reasons for, violence against women are outlined. The final part of the report suggests that violence prevention campaigns, specifically targeting men and boys and addressing the attitudes, norms and inequalities that underlie violence against women and girls are crucial to reducing that violence. Strategies and policies to improve primary prevention programs are recommended at the national, state and local levels.en
