General Overview: :This UK report examines the needs of disabled women experiencing domestic violence and the services available to meet those needs. Discussion: :The report includes a literature review and notes the many gaps in both research literature and service provision. Domestic violence services and disability organisations were surveyed about the numbers of disabled women experiencing domestic violence approaching the organisations, the policies of the organisations, their provision of services, specialist training and gaps in services. Disabled women who had experienced domestic violence were also surveyed about their experience of abuse and their perceptions of service agencies. The report concludes with detailed recommendations regarding policy development, local implementation, good practice and strategic development.
