Publisher: Washington State Coalition Against Domestic Violence, [Seattle, WA
Notes:  Argues that advocates have an important role in domestic violence fatality reviews (DVFR), and aims to provide guidance to communities setting up fatality reviews in the US context, including a discussion on best practices for domestic violence fatality review panels. It gives an overview of key aspects or features of effective reviews with regard to leadership, culture, the focus, and the products or outcomes of fatality reviews. Lists of questions framing the potential reviews and basic information or data collection are also suggested. It concludes that the focus of DVFR is more than homicide prevention and identification of women at risk of lethal violence; more importantly, the objective is to improve community response for all battered women, as well as changes in policy, practice and protocols.
