Discussion: The resource package begins with a discussion of how interpretations of religious doctrine are sometimes used to justify domestic violence or to require women to be submissive and obedient and the responses of religious scholars to this interpretation. Following this discussion, the resource goes on to cover the following areas: * the material primarily addresses issues pertinent to Jewish, Christian and Muslim faiths, as little material is currently available regarding other faiths * available information focuses almost exclusively on heterosexual unions that are consecrated by faith communities
