Abstract: | This article explores the experiences of individuals who lost a parent to intimate partner homicide during childhood, focusing on how they make sense of and share their personal stories throughout their lives. Using narrative analysis, the study draws on interviews with 12 participants in Australia, revealing themes of imposed and subversive narratives, grief, and healing. Participants described experiences of silencing, loneliness, and stigma but also moments of empowerment through reclaiming their stories and advocating for social justice. Findings underscore the importance of tailored professional and peer support to facilitate personal healing and systemic reform. |
