Notes:  This chapter, from a book which is focused on same sex domestic violence, explores the development, history and work of the Same Sex Domestic Violence Interagency:from 2001 to 2009 working to address same sex domestic violence in NSW, Australia. The interagency has been responsible for many activities such as data collection, awareness campaigns, developing resources, collecting and distributing research, developing prevention strategies, and advising community services. After providing a brief background about definitions and legal aspects, the authors focus on describing the activities and subsequent outcomes of the interagency, most notably the There’s No Pride in Domestic Violence Campaign:, Another Closet:campaign and Fair’s Fair Report:. This is followed by a discussion of the challenges faced by the interagency and strategies they employed to be successful, including lack of funding, lack of specialist services, meeting rural/regional/remote service needs, lack of data and negative community responses to interagency initiatives.
