Notes:	The result of a five-year research project conducted in urban and rural coastal regions of Central Queensland, this book develops a contextual understanding of family violence, its impact on Indigenous communities and the individual and cultural healing processes that need to take place if these communities are to move forward. After identifying some of the key research questions and concepts employed, the author goes on to explore Aboriginal 'world views' pre- and post-colonisation, highlighting ways in which Indigenous culture has collided with and been subordinated to Western influences. Transcripts of stories told in the course of the We Al-li programme are provided and drawn together into central themes. The final chapters of the book emphasise the capacity of Indigenous communities to regenerate and present a model for Indigenous community healing.
