It provides medical practitioners with a defined care and referral pathway to specialist domestic violence services. IRIS also includes male victims and perpetrators.

This resource describes the IRIS model, and its costs and benefits. Appendices provide case studies and outline the IRIS randomised controlled trial conducted in Bristol and Hackney between 2007-2010.
