The Jewish Taskforce Against Family Violence (JTAFV) compiled these guidelines in coordination with the Rabbinical Council of Victoria from a series of seminars held by the JTAFV in 2009 titled ‘Appropriate Responses to Disclosures of Family Violence and Sexual Assault’. The guidelines recommend community education programs designed specifically for Jewish communities, aimed at raising awareness of the instance of domestic violence. The document highlights the role that rabbis play in Jewish communities, providing a response model for rabbis when dealing with victims of domestic violence.
