Notes:  This section of the report deals with the issue of family violence in Indigenous communities. The report discusses Partnerships Against Domestic Violence (PADV) initiatives in Indigenous communities; ways of addressing the problem of alcohol and drug misuse in Indigenous communities, which may contribute to family violence; and Indigenous programs to support young people at risk. The report recommends that Partnerships Against Domestic Violence produce a report on the impacts of PADV initiatives funded to address Indigenous family violence, and that the issue of strategies to address alcohol and substance misuse in Indigenous communities be referred to the Committee for inquiry and report.
