Notes:	General Overview: This brief Australian fact sheet offers tips to women with disabilities who are experiencing domestic violence. Some of the specific difficulties these women face include reduced mobility and dependence on their abuser for care. * Have a safety plan: advising women to keep contact numbers, plan where to go in a crisis and how to get there, ask help from friends and neighbours, keep emergency cash accessible and keep valuables together and easily accessible * Your children: includes talking to children about how to respond to violent episodes, including having a special code word to let them know you have to leave quickly, telling them what to do in an emergency and reinforcing that it is not their fault Finally, the sheet highlights the most important tips for survival and safety for disabled women experiencing domestic violence. In particular it recommends that women contact the Women's Domestic Violence Crisis Service or their local Domestic Violence Outreach Service, that they have a trusted relative or friend to help in a crisis and also a safety plan.
