General Overview and Objective: Provisional Crime Statistics are produced by Victoria Police. This document is a series of summary tables of family violence incidents for different regions in Victoria.
Methods: Rates of family violence incidents are calculated using estimated resident population figures from the Australian Bureau of Statistics, as at 31 December for 2003 and 2004.
Discussion and Results: The summary tables provide numbers of incidents recorded for 2003/2004 and 2004/2005, including percentages of change and rates per 100,000 population for local government areas in Victoria. These include: Melbourne, Stonnington, Yarra, Glen Eira, Port Phillip, Bayside and Kingston.
