Research areas covered include definitions of domestic violence, incidence and prevalence studies, studies of at-risk groups such as children, Indigenous people and pregnant women, research into the economic, social and health costs of domestic violence, and resources aimed at the prevention of violence. The need for integrated and long-term responses to domestic violence is identified as a key theme emerging from the literature review and links to useful electronic journals and journal articles are provided. A list of key Internet sites in each State and Territory is also included.
