It is developed by the American Bar Association. It suggests that all clients should be screened for domestic violence during intake or initial interviews and includes a range of behaviours or warning signs to look out for. It points out that clients may not volunteer information about their experiences, that the client does not fit a stereotype or may decline to discuss domestic violence and what the lawyer should let the client know.
