This pamphlet sets out a definition of family violence, describes the barriers to reporting Aboriginal family violence, and lists twelve Indigenous family violence initiatives being conducted across Australia under Partnerships Against Domestic Violence. Key findings are oulined from five of these projects: Healing our Families and the Apunipima Family Violence Advocacy Project, which address Indigenous family violence in Cape York communities; Models of Intervention at the Point of Crisis in Aboriginal Families, a Western Australian project; the Port Youth Theatre Workshop, a Port Adelaide project which has produced a series of workshop resources which involve teaching Indigenous children how to deal with conflict; and the Pilot Court-Mandated and Court-Referred Programme for Offenders of Domestic and Aboriginal Family Violence, a Northern Territory offender program based on a behaviour change model. The booklet also outlines the features that are necessary to provide a successful community response to Aboriginal family violence.<br/ >(Australia)<br/ >Barton, A.C.T. : Partnerships Against Domestic Violence, 2000. {6}p. biblen
