Notes:  This is a report on the findings of the Australian Community Sector Survey, which was conducted by ACOSS and covers the period July 2010 – June 2011. A total of 665 nongovernment agencies completed the survey. The study found that for people experiencing poverty and disadvantage in Australia, the greatest areas of need were the availability of secure and affordable housing and care and treatment for mental illness. The 52 domestic violence and sexual assault support services which responded to the survey reported underfunding and unmet demand.
