This issues paper presents the results of a systematic search of relevant research databases which looked for programs and interventions designed to improve community safety in Australian Indigenous communities. The authors note that while there is a sizable amount of literature on this topic, very little is centred on the Indigenous population.
The 74 studies which remained from an original finding of 15,476 were rated by the authors according to the Maryland Scientific Methods Scale and the 11 given the highest ranking are discussed. One of the criteria for inclusion in the final selection of papers analysed was that evaluation data be included in the work.
