Discussion: The researchers conducted a literature review and consulted with victims/ survivors, community members, community workers and workers in the criminal justice system. The article surveys the information available about the prevalence of sexual violence for Indigenous and CALD women. It reports on the experience of sexual violence, the needs of victims and survivors, the barriers to reporting and ways to encourage reporting. It suggests that attitudes within particular communities need to be addressed and that this will require strong community leadership.
