Notes: | This paper looks at the issue of female violence and analyses a number of issues on female violence that have been taken from several focus groups and a series of interviews with social service workers. It challenges the traditional notions of violent women being labeled as ‘bad’, ‘sad’ or ‘mad’ and attempts to re-problematise the issue of female violence away from the binary labels of ‘good’ and ‘bad’ which ignore the complexities of females as perpetrators of violence. Engages feminist positions and discussions on violent women. Explores the theoretical, practical and policy issues that were presented by workers in the field. |
