Notes:  The second in a two-part series, this article focuses on the range and nature of interventions that might be utilised when working with youth who exhibit violent behaviour, particularly towards family members but also towards peers and/or other community members. The concepts of ‘victim’ and ‘victimiser’, ‘instrumental’ and ‘expressive’ violence are deconstructed and some approaches to working with both children and parents, either individually or together, are explored. Case studies are used to illustrate and a series of categories of useful questions that can be raised in the therapeutic context is provided.
