Notes:  Summarises some of the key themes emerging from a recent research project undertaken by the Australian Domestic and Family Violence Clearinghouse. The project, entitled ‘Staying Home/ Leaving Violence’, aimed at both exploring, with the women themselves, the possibility of their staying in their own homes when leaving a violent domestic situation and also assessing the choices available when escaping abusive relationships. The study found that research participants expressed a wide range of responses to the question of staying in their own home. A service framework and model for service delivery is currently being developed by the Clearinghouse on the basis of the research.
