Notes: | This paper reviews legal, medical and social science research literature to explore intimate partner violence experiences of Asian, Middle Eastern and Latino women living in the United States. It was found that elements related to culture, context and legal immigration status increase immigrant women’s vulnerability to domestic violence. Similarly, these factors prevent immigrant women from seeking and receiving help, and are used by perpetrators to maintain their control. |
