Notes:	General Overview: This review paper examines policy and practice in the US regarding interventions with male perpetrators of domestic violence. Discussion: The authors argue that prior to this review, perpetrator programs or men's behaviour change programs had not been assessed using empirical measures and evaluations and have remained largely unaccountable. The authors make the point that the core principles of evidence-based practice have been rejected in this field, as the delivery system is politically and ideologically driven. The paper describes the development of evidence-based practice and outlines the various theoretical perspectives on explanatory or causal research on domestic violence abuse. An outline of the research into interventions is provided. The authors recommend that the continuation and mandating of the standard domestic violence program model should not continue to be funded. Instead, a thorough individualised assessment and treatment approach holds greater promise of success.
