Notes:	Overview: This review article examines the likelihood that substance use treatment results in reductions in the incidence of intimate partner violence (IPV). Seven US studies of partner abuse behaviour in conjunction with treatment for substance abuse were scrutinized. Among the results were: Gaps in this area of research and the limitations of these specific studies are discussed while issues for future research are suggested.
