Notes:  This programme is a South Australian initiative based on experiences of response models to domestic violence developed internationally and within South Australia. A multi-agency initiative that began operating in October 1999, the programme focuses on the evaluation of collaborative approaches, the ‘Stopping Violence’ programme for perpetrators, and outcomes for victims. The participation of a number of agencies has been central to the design and operation of the project. For instance, the Courts Administration Authority created The Family Violence Court, and the Child and Family Investigation Units of the SA Police identify potential programme participants. The article describes the specific role of the agencies to achieve each one of the programme objectives.
