Notes:  This article reports on the findings from a US study which surveyed 1412 young adults about their experiences of exposure to sibling abuse, mental health systems and other experiences of family violence and abuse. Witnessing violence to siblings was related to several negative mental health impacts and co-occurred with witnessing violence abuse of mothers. Detailed additional findings are presented related to the type of abuse and range of negative mental health impacts.
