Notes:  This article presents the findings from a US randomised controlled study which tested the effectiveness of dating violence prevention program targeting young male school athletes. The program provided one 60 minute training session to coaches, who then were instructed to offer nine to eleven brief informal discussions with athletes about their attitudes and behaviours. The program showed effectiveness in changing intention to intervene as a bystander but no other impacts. Other impacts were identified when the extent to which the program was implemented was considered in the analysis.
