Notes:	Evaluates an alternative service model for women and children escaping domestic violence. Provides a background for the introduction of Marg’s Place, a statewide, high-security accommodation support model located in regional Victoria. The model was funded in 1996 by the Victorian SAAP to provide a dispersed model of service that would cater for a demand for enhanced diversity in service provision for women escaping domestic violence. The authors use a range of evaluation methods including: interviews, surveys, analysis of client database and programme documents. They highlight that the establishment of Marg’s Place is aligned with the key objectives of the Partnerships Against Domestic Violence Program. The evaluation found that Marg’s place provided effective and efficient service with reports by women who used the service of enhanced levels of empowerment and feelings of safety.
