This article discusses the importance and urgency of preventing and addressing the violence experienced by Aboriginal women and children. A systematic commitment from governments is necessary to the implementation of successful solutions. Amongst the crucial aspects required, the author detects an active participation of Indigenous communities and people, effective coordination between agencies and programmes, and an adequate provision of funding.
