Notes:  General Overview: :This journal article looks at the differences between completers and non-completers of batterer treatment programs in Washington, United States.

Discussion: :This study looks at 62 men who began batterer treatment in 1997. Only 37% reached the maintenance stage of the program while 61% dropped out. Men who were older and employed were more likely to complete the program. There was no difference between completers and non-completers regarding ethnicity, income, educational attainment, marital status, criminal history or substance use. Men who were court-mandated were more likely to complete treatment.
