Notes:	Domestic violence is the leading cause of homelessness for women, and homeless women are more likely to experience abuse. Re-establishing a life after leaving violence is challenging — victims have a significantly reduced asset base, have had their sense of financial capability eroded, and have diminished social networks. For those who have retained some networks of support, their safety needs often mean that they have to seek refuge in areas away from those networks.
