Notes:  A review of the impact of intimate partner violence (IPV) on the mental health of victims. The review focuses on all types of IPV victimisation, rather than only physical violence. The study reviews literature from a search of 11 electronic databases over the decade of 2004-2014. The article concludes that psychological violence is a serious form of IPV that can impact on the mental health of victims, and experiencing multiple forms of IPV can increase the severity of outcomes.
